Skateboard Backpacks May Be Hard To Find At A Good Price
If you love your backpack only then do we suggest you pay attention to the following information. Yes, if you are the person who never goes home and is always sleeping over at other bands houses and needing to bum rides all within the place then yes we are speaking with you. You most likely have a ton of important stuff in you skateboarding backpack so its vital that you select a good one.
But if you are reading this page then you are probably looking for a new set up. The “home from home” you keep on your back may be wearing a little thin and all that change you been scrounging up is beginning to fall through the holes.
Small Bags VS Bigger Skateboarding Backpacks
Keeping Things Small:
You might just have two compartments for your gear. Should you only keep a couple random things in your bag then something small may just do the trick. Small bags are perfect when you do a ton of street skating.
Kids who do a ton of street skateboarding have to know something pretty important about bags. Try getting a bag which has a waste strap. If you are floating down curbs and stair sets on your session then it gets pretty annoying to have your bag always smacking you in the rear. A waste strap will keep your bag close so it won’t mess with your balance.
You may also wish to think about how hot it gets because you may require a place for a hydration system. If you have one of these setups during the summer then it can make your long skate days much better.
Going Big:
If you want room for more gear than your average skater then consider going big. (You always want to step it up when you go skating right?) A big bag comes with quite a few more things you'd want over a small skateboarding backpack.
First be certain to get a bag that has straps for your skateboard. You don’t always wanna carry your skate around and having this option is nice. Watch for bags that actually possess some sort of padding or projective surface where your griptape will be rubbing against it. You’d believe that the designers of these bags would think about these things, but you’d be surprised.
You need to rock out a lot, so consider your music when riding too. Where you normally keep your MP3 player is a big deal. Ensure that you also have enough slack from your head phones cables. Its a good thing to note how big the bag really is if it gets too large then your head phones wont reach where your ears are all the way to where you keep your music.
Keep on the lookout for how many secret pockets your bag has too. Those special pockets that keep your important stuff hidden is actually important. If you are out sleeping around at other bands houses then you will need some great places to hide stuff. How many times have you heard something like, “Hey! Someone stole 20 bucks out of my bag!” Or, “Someone jacked my camera!" You'll need hidden pockets to protect yourself against random kids you do not know.
what is a good size for a street skating skateboard?
deck length and width, wheel size, trucks, and what kind of bearings
For a street deck it just depends on what feels best for you but usually street decks are anywhere between 7.5in wide to 8in wide. I ride street mostly and I like 7.75. Not sure how long my boards are.
Wheels- you probably want to go with like 50mm to 56mm for street. I ride 52's
Trucks- generally any "low" trucks you find in skate shops are good for street
and Bearings- well it all depends on how much you want to spend. The best bearings are probably Swiss Bones Ceramic bearings. They are like $100 bucks but they will last you for years if you keep them clean. Any swiss made bearing is probably pretty good. Right now I'm riding Element Swiss and they have lasted me almost 2 years now cause I keep them clean.
If you want a good bearing for pretty cheap, Bones Reds are good and don't cost a lot.
Good luck!!
