Are these ice skates any good?
Ok, i'm not doing any spins or jumps or anything like that, and I go to a public session at my loacl rink, so hockey and speed skates aren't an option.
I quite like these, but they seem cheaper then most skates:

That will be perfect for what you want to use them for. The only reason they are cheaper is because they are not made for people taking lessons or jumping or spinning. They are made for people that occasionally go to a public skate session. Go ahead and get them if you like them. You shoe size may not correspond with what skate size you get, if in doubt look for a sizing chart or get your dress shoe size. And wear thin socks when skating, your feet will be warmer and you won't get blisters from the skates being too big.
