Enjoy A Short Break At The Isle Of Wight Garlic Festival With Red Funnel
The famous Isle of Wight Garlic Festival is back this August, and you can experience it with Red Funnel. Whether you're eager to get away for a relaxing weekend break with your partner or a family looking for things to do during the summer holidays, the festival, held on 14 and 15 August 2010 has something for everyone. Organisers are expecting more than 20,000 people to flock to the event, being held at The Garlic Farm, near Newchurch. Delicacies on offer include garlic sausages, garlic prawns, garlic fudge and even garlic beer!
It’s not all garlic though, as some of the islands very best local produce, including award winning meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables are available to try. There are also some fantastic acts lined up to keep everyone entertained, including the world famous android performer TITAN, the robot who recently appeared with Rihanna, not to mention high-wire, magic shows and stunt artists.There is also plenty to keep the kids satisfied, with Punch and Judy shows, clowns and daredevil acts from the circus all performing as well as some great food to keep them going throughout the day, including the famous garlic ice cream. Entrance to the festival is £7.50 for adults, £6.50 for seniors and just £5 for children.
The Isle of Wight also boasts some of the UK’s finest restaurants, including the Michelin star rated Robert Thompson at The Hambrough. The youngest person to ever receive the coveted award, chef patron Thompson’s polished, confident dishes reflect his unfolding love affair with island ingredients, including his signature dish of sweet terrine of smoked eel, fois gras, roast pork and caramelised granny smiths. With spectacular views of the English Channel from its Ventnor Bay location, the setting will excite as much as the food

Red ice skates. Should I use dye or paint?
I own a pair of white leather ice skates which I would like to turn into red ice skates. Should I dye them, or use acrylic paint with textile medium thrown in?
So i wouldn't necesarily dye your boots because the die might come off easily with water (your skating on a bunch of it!) and it will probably ruin your boots. My best advice would be to either buy red boot covers, or buy a new skate that comes in red. Depending on your level, you can either buy an entry level skate thats colored. LIke these, they can come in red:

or buy a more advanced boot. I know that spterri designs some colored boots that are for a higher level, like working on double and maybe even triple jumps. But since these boots are custom made, they will be more expensive.
